Mr S was referred by his dentist as a dental phobic with an aggressive form of periodontal disease, requesting a fixed implant solution for his loose painful teeth. An examination revealed the only two solid teeth with a good supporting bone level, were his two canines and he had anterior guidance from these teeth.
With atrophic sinuses and severe bone loss around his remaining teeth, sinus grafts were carried out approximately 8 weeks after tooth removal and several implants placed 12 weeks later. Some 3 months later the implants were restored with fixed bridges showing excellent function and good polychromicity throughout the restoration. Mr S was delighted with the results of his treatment and at his 18 month review the bone and soft tissue is stable.
Several visits.
