Welcome to Complete Art
Allen Branley, Clinical Director at Complete Smile, has been collecting art for many years and in 2010 Complete Smile became the major sponsor for the Newcastle Gateshead Art Fair. Complete Smile have now set up its own Art Gallery (Balman Gallery @ Complete Smile) at the practice in partnership with the Balman Gallery, one of the region’s leading contemporary art galleries based in Corbridge, Northumberland.
This means that nationally and internationally recognised artists – such as Billy Childish, Maggie Hambling, Chris Gollon and war artist Peter Howson – will be on display within the modern premises of Complete Smile along with selected work from leading contemporary North East artists. As well as the launch of the new gallery, Andy and Allen have also collectively established the Branley Balman Gallery Bursary to support talented art students in the region. This is an innovative coming together of the private sector and the Bursary is thought to be the first of its kind in the North of England.
Balman Gallery is based in the beautiful Town Hall Building in the centre of Corbridge, Northumberland. With 6 gallery spaces over 2 floors the gallery exhibits a wide and eclectic range of art and craft from leading UK and International artists as well as emerging artists at the early stages of their careers.
Balman Gallery @ Complete Smile exhibits a wide range of art within the practice with work changing on a regular basis.

Allen Branley
Allen graduated from the University of Newcastle in 1991 and after a number of positions in general practice, he took up a position at Sheffield Hospital where he received his Masters degree in Oral Surgery in 1997. He developed the Complete Smile clinic in 2000 where he currently holds the position of Clinical Director.
Allen also regularly lectures in implant and cosmetic dentistry both nationally and internationally. He currently splits his time working and teaching dentists between the Complete Smile Institute in South Shields and in Texas USA however still finds time to indulge in his love of art and is a keen art collector and active supporter of the Arts and Cultural Sector hence the launch of the Balman Gallery @ Complete Smile.
Andy Balman
Andy has been involved in the arts and creative industries in the North East for over 25 years. After setting up and managing the legendary Riverside Music venue in Newcastle for 15 years, he went on to establish Europe’s largest commercial art gallery, The Biscuit Factory, also in Newcastle. More recently he set up the Newcastle Gateshead Art Fair that attracts galleries and collectors from the UK and abroad.
Having worked with thousands of artists and collectors Andy decided to set up Balman Gallery to focus on developing the collectors market in the region. Balman Gallery @ Complete Smile is the next exciting stage in bringing artists and collectors together.
